I am so in love with Jessica Prince's books!! I found her by chance and now I can't get enough of her stories, have to read them as soon as they are out. When I first started reading Corrupt, as I was reading the first couple of chapters, I thought the premise of the story would be pretty predictable and that I'd know for sure how it was going to go. I was right and I wasn't. I mean, Gwen and Garrett did get their happy ending, but they didn't get there the way I thought they would.
They meet by chance when Gwen's friend, Corrine, drags her to a party thrown by her favorite rock band. Gwen has no idea who they are and when she runs into their drummer, Garrett, she is clueless to the fact that she's hanging out with a badass rockstar. They have a one night stand after which his assistant throws her out at his request. And then things start getting interesting. Their one nights stand ends in a surprise, not necessarily pleasant, at least for him. He handles it badly, and she ends up hating his guts for it. Then we skip to almost four years later where Garrett is trying his hardest to make amends and win Gwen's heart over.
I really loved their story so much and the epilogue melted my heart. The only thing that could've made this story better would have been to have Garrett's POV as well. Because of it all being only from Gwen's POV, I couldn't make up my mind on whether Garrett was a douchebag or not. Other than that, awesome start to a new series. I can't wait for Tatum and Declan's book.

Corrupt Civil Corruption Book 1 edition by Jessica Prince Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
I loved Corrupt by Jessica Prince, her first book in her new series, Civil Corruption! I consumed this book in one sitting and then read it again shortly after. This is Garret Wilder’s story, the drummer for Civil Corruption, the hottest band in the country.
I will tell you upfront I love bad boy jerks. Not sure why, but I do. I love to see them be reformed by the love of a good woman. So honestly, I had such a love-hate relationship with Garrett. When he meets Gwen Carson he seems like a good guy meeting a girl at a party. They hit it off and spend an unforgettable night together.
The next morning Gwen realizes who he really is and how much of a bad boy he is. But somehow, he ends up beings a permanent fixture in her life. Like it or not and though she wants to punch him almost every time she must deal with him! But no matter how much she tries to hate him, she is also drawn to him.
Garret was such a jerk at the beginning. He was your typical rocker! Rich, spoiled and a partier that went from one woman to the next. I wanted to strangle him. Then we begin to see a different side of him. A more serious side that wanted to get to know Gwen and spend time with her. That Garret stole my heart. He was sweet, caring and so much the possessive alpha. He was also funny and witty.
Gwen was so sad at the start of the story. After suffering such devastating losses, she wanted a fresh start and moved to Seattle to be with her best friend. One night changed her life forever and though she was drowning in grief, she was strong, willful, feisty and so loving. She stood her ground and never let Garret intimidate her.
I loved this story and the characters. I loved how Garret fought for what he wanted and Gwen held her heart tight, afraid to be hurt again. And boy did I hate Kimber. It’s been a long time since I hated a villain so much. I devoured this book from beginning to end. Though the overall theme is not new, the famous rocker and your average girl, this story just drew me in completely
4.5 stars! Read and reviewed for Reviews From The Heart.
Before you read this book, block of a couple of hours in your schedule, turn off the phone, bring the kids to grandmas, lock the hubby outside...whatever you need to do be alone because once you start this book YOU WILL NOT WANT TO STOP!!!
When I first heard about this book I was super excited to read a rock star book! Its been awhile since my last one so I was ready. I started reading and realized this was much more than just a rock star book, this was everything else, PLUS a rockstar book! From the very beginning I was hooked and got mad every time I had to put it down. I just wanted to read and read until I was done because I was just so intrigued with this story, and these characters. I don't know why but I just LOVED IT ALL!. I could just feel the heat, the passion, the anger, the hurt, all the emotions and that just proves the author did an amazing job writing this story! I loved the characters. They just seemed real and relatable. There were times I loved them and times I wanted to yell at them but it all came full circle by the end.
This book goes on my list as a favorite for 2017! It is an absolute must read!
