Liya Amari has been transferred to the Chatsfield's London location in order to prepare the hotel staff for the arrival of Sayed's engagement entourage. When Sayed's fiance' breaks off the engagement abruptly and Liya's true purpose for visiting the Chatsfield ends in heartache they allow themselves a passionate night to forget their troubles. Now they must deal with the consequences and prevent a scandal from developing. This is the first book in The Chatsfield continuity series, it can also be read as a stand alone.

Sheikh's Scandal is a romantic story in The Chatsfield series from Harlequin Presents. I loved the amount world building that went into this story. I enjoyed reading the details included about the setting, culture, language, and customs. It gave the story a more immersive quality and made it stand out from other Sheikh romances I've read.

I was excited to read Liyah's story every since I saw the Chatsfield's family tree. As the illegitimate daughter of Gene Chatsfield, Liyah's had a very different upbringing then her privileged step-siblings. She was raised solely by her mother who taught her to be independent and take pride in her work. Her mother's dying wish was for Liyah to make herself known to her father.

Sayed is determined to uphold tradition and serve his country. Taking a wife was just another step in the plan laid out for him. He never thought the woman he had been betrothed to for years would run off with another man. Liyah is a lovely distraction but he soon finds his life becoming even more complicated for giving into his impulses.

I liked both of the main characters though I didn't find their drunken tryst entirely romantic. The beginning of the story is strong but there is definite lack of tension for the remainder of the book. Liyah's meeting with her father and Sayed's broken engagement were the most emotionally charged moments for the characters. Afterwards conflict in the story seemed somewhat subdued because both characters adjusted easily to opposition or the problems were immediately resolved. Enough happened to keep my attention and I still consider it an okay story but the world building and characters stood out to me the most.

Sheikh Scandal The Chatsfield Book 1 eBook Lucy Monroe Reviews

I loved this story. It is about a woman who is trying to understand who she is. It is also about a man who discovers that there is more to him than he thought. I loved that Liyah went from having no family to a big family. It was so good ,I read it in two sittings.
It was well written and exactly what I expect from a M&B-H romance.
It makes me feel great that for some people, their lives are neatly resolved and it is happy ever after!
If these books could be translated into Arabic, and given to the Arabs to read, we may get a peaceful Middle East yet!
Love this book. For once the Hero in this book is not over the top not trusting the heroine when she proclaim innocence. The passion is there and the rest is the same Harlequin formula. Wish it was a little longer for the character development. I loved His parents too, especially the mom. There's no huge drama and all in all a nice warm feeling following the story. Great read.
Sheikh Sayed is a strong and caring hero and is staying at The Chatsfield Hotel in London when his fiance elopes with someone else although shocked he is not that upset by it and he has already noticed the lead chamber maid Liyah. Liyah is strong but a bit niave but there is a spark of electricity that cannot be denied between them, this one is sensual and heart warming I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to more in the continuity.
I liked almost everything about this book. It's just that he didn't know she spoke his language fluently and I was waiting for him to hear her speaking it. It never happened, although there was a part where she mention it. The author doesn't say if he heard her say it, and if he did hear it he didn't acknowledge it. Other than that tiny detail this is a great book. It wasn't all predictable, like many books. Not only did she get his unconditional love, but also everything she was missing in her life, like a family. It might be some girls dream to be a princess, but i think it's every girl dream to be a truly loved princess. I didn't give it five star because of the tiny detail I mention before. As tiny as it was, it left me unsatisfied. I would recommend this book, it's a great read.
What a awesome book I loved it! I don't read many HP novels that I end up total loving. I was also pleasantly surprised that the H in this story was respectful to the h in the book and yes he was a little clueless about his feelings (it was obvious that he had strong feelings for)but he was very charming and sexy 😉. He was at time's a little rude to the h but it was clearly an attempt to mask his feelings for her (he was in no way as cruel as some other male characters that have been in Lucy's other books or in other HP novels )And the h was independent charming Innocent all rolled up in one. This was a good book I haven't read anything from Lucy Monroe in a while and this book was good book to remind me of why I love her books can't wait to read more in the future!
I loved the fact that this wonderful story had no misunderstandings, no evil jealous woman trying to steal away the hero. He was caring and respectful. I love the way the H stood up for her. The story kept me enthralled from begging to end. As ashamed as I am to admit this in writing, I am guilty of being a bit influenced by the portrayal of the heroes on the covers. And let me just say that the hunk on this cover does it for me every time. Sexxxy!!
